City Nature Challenge 2026!
Bringing the world together for biodiversity.

The CNC is a 4-day global bioblitz that encourages participants around the world to document wildlife in their cities and neighborhoods. For us, we use iNaturalist for this.

The CNC began as a friendly competition between 2 cities in 2016 and has grown to a global event, with 669 cities and 103,000 observers participating last year, making a record high 3.3 million observations.

This year, the CNC is from Friday, 4/24-Monday 4/27

April 28 - May 10: Upload and Identify
May 13 - Results Announced
