Millers
Pond supplied the power for Peter Burr's mill in 1737, but
it got its name much more recently, from a Nathaniel Miller
who owned the property from 1925 to 1970 and built the fanciful
"Moongate" and a tudor-style residence at the site. Slightly
to the south was an old cider, clove, and plaster mill (opposite
the Motor Inn on Route 7).
At
the southern end of this section there's a Nature Study Area
that's used by many local schools and organizations to teach
youngsters and adults about the local natural habitats.
