Belden Hill Brook flows out of the South Norwalk Reservoir, through the Old South Norwalk Reservoir (also known as Crystal Lake, beside Borglum Road), and down to the Silvermine River at the point where Wilton, New Canaan, and Norwalk all meet. The water in Belden Hill Brook is not always excess water overflowing from the reservoir. Even in dry periods, the reservoir operators supply a certain minimum flow of water to keep the brook's animal and plant life healthy.
